Marriage Enrichment

MISSION. The mission of Marriage Enrichment is to strengthen the relationship between a man and a woman in the Sacrament of Marriage through a spiritual, experiential-based process that places God at the center.

Q:  What is one of the best things you can give your children?

A:  A good marriage.

Responsible car owners practice regular vehicle maintenance because they know that otherwise it is only a matter of time before there’s a bigger problem. The same applies to a marriage.  It takes a consistent effort to keep a marriage intact and flourishing, and a part of that “regular maintenance” is this new ministry being developed.  We’re asking if you would like to be a part of transplanting the successful Marriage Enrichment program here at St. John’s Cathedral Parish.

Marriage Enrichment accepts couples "where they are now" and builds from there.

About the program

The first Marriage Enrichment Weekend was at Queen of Heaven Roman Catholic Parish in Albuquerque, New Mexico in 1974, based on the Cursillo model. The idea was to create a ministry that would strengthen the vocation and sacrament of marriage, and would be presented by married couples working with the clergy and religious within the parish.
